DVF African Stylespiration

If I were you, and I had LOADS of money and nothing to spend it on, I would go out right now and invest in buying up Diane Von Furstenbug's entire Spring 2010 Collection of dresses. Her collection embodies every trend that you could possibly want to test run this spring/summer with an emphasis on interesting yet subtle African details. You can thank me once the compliments come rolling in...

First, solid navy blue or grey dresses. Get some. Second, invest in an interesting shirt-dress. Whether safari or Soho inspired, they are comfy and stylish for the office or weekend. Love these classics...

Next, sexed-up neutrals. One huge trend DVF hits out of the park this season is to subtly mix brights with whites and creams. Even if solely through trendy colorful bangles or hairpieces this mix is contagiously simple.

Finally, bold African-cloth-and-handicraft-inspired patterned dresses and accessories. Make the exotic accessible in your life through simple silhouettes and you won't be overpowered.

Africare we there yet?

Need more reason's to purchase an African inspired DVF frock? The designer works with Women-for-Women International to provide job training, micro-lending, and sustainable resources to women affected by civil strife to help rebuild communities through new industries. Now that's something to get wrapped up in. :)

I love the women for women organization.
Their motto is
"One woman can change anything.
Many women can change everything"
Perhaps I'll pick up a few african inspired items on my jaunt to Paris in a few weeks.
