"OMG omg omg omg what is that?! It says Crate and Barrel. Holy crap babe, get the scissors we got a huge PREZZZZY! How exciting is this?!?!?!"

"OH man it is really difficult to contain our excitement but smile pretty for the camera, we need to capture our very first wedding gift delivery for posterity. Can you even handle this right now?!"

"No we clearly can't handle this... Oh man oh man oh man it has a pretty white bow and it says Crate and Barrel all over it! Ach, enough pictures OPEN THE PREZZZY!"

"Oh wait theres a card, its from my Dad and Stepmom and lil bro and sis for Christmas... OK it's still from our registry and it's still the most exciting thing that has happened in forever and it still counts as our first official wedding gift... and that means we're really getting married! WOOO!"

"YES! Some awesome cutlery and a sweet adjustable bamboo cutlery tray so we won't be embarrassed by our busted Ikea crap anymore, Hallelujah! Getting married is awesome, why didn't we do this sooner?!?!?!"

Thank you amazing family!

Pie! Pie! More Pie!

Ya'll know my love for pie of all varieties. I do not discriminate. (Except pecan, that's just disgusting). So you can imagine the thrill that went through my fluttering heart at the sight of these beauties.

How flipping cute are these pies in a jar? How good would they be as favors at the wedding of someone with the nickname Pie? No, I'm not kidding thats what my dad has called me my entire life, I have no idea why I swear...

Anyone want to get baking? I have a pretty full plate as it is already. See what I did there?! Full plate, get it???!!!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I'm baaaaaaaack!!! Welcome to 2010! Hope you all had beautiful holidays and a happppy NEW YEAR! I know I did. Wanna see?

Besides our trip to NYC (all 200 odd pics up on FB and will probably be up on here in the "highlights" form shortly) Jonathon and I had about 4 other Christmases! One vicariously through my lil bro and sis on the phone, one with just each other before NYC Xmas (many gloves and hats exchanged) and one at Jon's grandma's house and one at my grandma's house. Whew are you tired too? Naw, it was pure fun.

Here we are sitting in front of the fireplace at J's Gammer's... We had a load of fun playing Christmas trivia with my future MIL Staci (who won) and eating the world's most delicious quiche and apple tarte from Urth Cafe. YUM!

After our flight home, our Christmas at Jon's grandma's and a few hours drive to Palm Springs we spent a few days of r&r with some of my favorite people... my cousins and my bro. They are all the bomb.com.

I don't know if you can tell from the pics but when we get together we like to eat... a lot. :) It was awesome. It was really fun spending new year's eve with my peeps since usually they are all off in Wisconsin or Texas or somewhere else. Jon had to work at the crack of dawn on New Year's Day so he didn't get to laugh at Dick Clark with us, but it was the best New Year's Eve I've had in a long time. Very low-key... Only would have been better if I could have kissed my honey at midnight. But man did I give out good high-fives!

Happy New Year to you all. It will be a big year for me for sure, and I hope this is the start of an amazing journey. Won't you come along for a ride on my fantastic voyage?! ;)

LA Holidaze

Last weekend my mummy and brother took Jonathon and I out for a night on the town. It was really my kind of day and night. We went shopping, ate a lot and sang carols! J bought his beautiful Allen Edmond split toe shoes for the wedding and a really lovely crisp white button-down for under his suit and Natey got his suit for the wedding (as previously seen here on Becoming Mrs. Ford). I really love shopping for other people with them and letting the opinions fly... I was in shopping heaven.

After all that retail therapy we went out for a yumtastic Italian meal worth writing home about. If you are from LA or just visiting, you really really need to do yourself a solid and go to C&O Trattoria or Cucina (there's two and both are off the hizzy). The killer garlic rolls are meal one, the appetizers are meal two, the Chianti is meal three, and the entrees are next days lunch. SERIOUSLY YUM.

We were a little bit stoked.

I'm not sure if you knew this or not but... We're engaged.

As a daughter, I see it as my duty to really crack my mom up every chance I get. Not because I like to give her something to smile about, but because when she really gets laughing it is the funniest thing anyone has ever seen. She absolutely can not stop. It looks painful, and the harder she laughs the harder she has to laugh... Feast your eyes:

At the KCRW Christmas Sing-A-Long where we got to rock out with several quit good and quit famous celebrities including Christopher Guest, Jane Lynch, and Weird Al! Heck yea!

Oh man we had a great time. This is what happens when you drink Chianti, sing and dance to Christmas carols for hours, and then ask your brother to take a photo of you and your fiance...

Perfect day and perfect night! Merry Christmas!

More Old Photos!

This super-genius plan of mine to make an old school photo scrapbook for our wedding guests to sign from photos that they send to me is turning out beautifully. Three people down, 82 to go!

These beauties came from my Aunt Debby. That's her in the exceptionally fashion-forward ruffly swimsuit. I think that look is actually quite trendy right now! Way to be hot Auntie! And her son Alex, my cousin, is sittin pretty between my bro and I in the second pic.

Loving the Oshkosh and the blue and pink onesies. We. Are. Bad. Ass. I think it's clear Tilda Swinton fashioned her entire esoteric look, from the hair to the monochrome rompers, direct from this very photo of me. You're welcome Tilda.
Thank you Aunt Debby!
PS: 110 days till the wedding!!!

Just Like Frodo

The parts of planning our wedding that make me the happiest are parts that I usually don't post up here on the ol' blog. For example: all the discussions with Mr. Fiance about being an old married couple, my wedding gown (which just makes me beyond giddy), and all of the awesome convos with friends and family about the wedding.

I talked with my little brother on the phone today. He is 9, but will be turning 10 a week before our wedding. He is also our ring bearer. I asked him if he knew what his job would be during the wedding and he answered, "Yea, I'm just like Frodo, only the rings aren't evil!"

And that my friends, is what makes this girl an extremely happy bride. Not the flowers, or the cake, or the invites, or the dress (OK I lied, the dress totally makes me happy) but the part where the wedding gives us reason to bring everyone important to me and J to one place to just celebrate. Also, apparently, it gives us an excuse to expel evil from Middle-Earth... or something.

My Brother is Amazing

He will stop at nothing to taunt me. Going so far as to create a YouTube video and forcing me to watch it while he knew I was at work. Resulting in tears of laughter while trying to stiffle church giggles as everyone in the library stares at me... Sigh. You win.
