Manic Monday

This is where J and I eat, drink, work... pretty much where we live during the week. Pretty isn't it?

Yea, well it may be pretty but it is HARD to be here today. With this whole daylight wake up hours before the sun savings thing, my body is seriously angry at me for being out of bed and out of pjs. No amount of coffee can make up for not sleeping in when you really want to.

Not to mention I had an awesomely relaxing weekend and what looks to be a hellish work week ahead of me... Sigh. This weekend we saw the Fighter, played disc golf, went on breakfast dates, took a stroll down Park Ave, hung out with friends, and played Rock Band til my throat hurt. Why can't every day be that fun? Some days you just have to smile and pretend you're at the beach in your own mind, right?

HAPPY MONDAY!

Reason #13 to Visit Orlando

The Chocolate Factory! No, I'm not talking about R. Kelley... I'm talking about real, homemade, delicious, tasty, scrumptious CHOCOLATE.

My wonderful husband took me out on a dinner date with a sweet finish a few weeks ago. I would definitely recommend Schakolad Chocolate Factory if you are looking for something special for the ladies. You can even have a chocolate making party in their store!

We tried the salted caramel, marshmallow, champagne and raspberry truffles as well as my favorite, the dark chocolate covered orange peel. Um... yes. It was all amazing.

Just one question: How you gonna do it if you really don't wanna dance?

Happy weekend!

Gone to the Beach

J and I have been away at the beach celebrating our one year anniversary this week! Can you believe it?! We decided to carpe the diem while he had some time off over spring break and we had such a blast. This is where we went (more pictures to come!)...

Now that I'm back at the office, it is literally impossible to get any work done. Not only am I mentally still here:

but it's also storming here in Orlando and all I want to do is curl up in bed with a chai and listen to the rain. Why are vacations always too short? Sigh.

Man Stuffs and Things

With Jonathon and my 1 year anniversary just around the corner (how is that possible?!) I have been doing some duderific shopping of late.

Man Stuff is an awesome Etsy site with all things vintage and manly (caution: that does include some vintage nudey mags for those of us who blush easily). This site not only has some great gift items, but everything is also on SALE 30% off until March 16. I'm excited.

Some of the items I have my eye on...

This brass semi-truck belt buckle is enjoyably kitschy.

I kind of want this clock for my own office, but I know J would love it too...

These sweet LBJ cowboy cuff links are way throwback.

Happy shopping and Happy Friday!

Flat Lucky

Having a job that requires traversing the country's second largest college campus on a daily basis has really done a number on my heels. Let's just say me and the local cobbler are on a first name basis. The conversation goes a little something like: "Oh, need new heel tips again? Groovy, I'd be happy to take your money on a bi-weekly basis."

It's not that I'm averse to flats, in fact I <3 them, I just can't seem to find a pair of flats that are cheap but don't look or feel it. But then again, the older I get the more I realize it's smarter to buy nice shoes than to throw away cheap pair after cheap pair.

I would buy these if spending $200 on shoes was no big thang.

And I would say see you soon cobbler and buy both of these if spending $300 on shoes was no big thang. They're perty.

But luckily the rest of these fall under my favorite four letter word: SALE! They are all still around $120 bucks, but that is a lot better than NOT on sale. I am kind of in love with the gold ones, but then again, my inner pimp rarely sees anything shiney and gold without drooling.

OMG shoes!

Happy Birthday Ma!

It's March, welcome! I don't know about ya'll but this is seriously like the Super Bowl of months in my world. Not only do I get to celebrate four very special family members' birthday's this month but also St. Patrick's day and Jonathon and my wedding anniversary!

But let's not get ahead of ourselves, alright. First things first:

I LOVE YOU AND CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU! (Oh yea, she's coming to Party City, USA this month too. Hopefully the weather is cooler than when she was out here last August but today it is supposed to be 85 so who knows!)

I love you mommers. Thanks for being the best mom a girl could ever ask for. I hope you liked your cake :D I'll either make you a real one when you're here or take you out for some true southern red velvet cake at The Briar Patch. LOVE YOU!
