Weekend at the Lumber Yard

Over the New Year's weekend Jonathon and I spent a lovely coastal day in the 'bu. We ended up strolling with our poochy through the Malibu Lumber Yard and through Cross Creek where we said "hey thanks for further running our state into the ground" to the Governator as he passed by.

Sidenote: the past two times we have been at Cross Creek he has also been there. Why isn't he in Sacramento? Why isn't he even having a "working lunch" or anything? All I ever see him doing is kicking it in the 'bu. YOU HAVE A STATE TO FIX stop shopping! PS: you're very short. Sigh.

Anyhow, I found a lot of great wedding inspiration at the Lumber Yard.

I almost bought some wedding sandals at Tory Burch. I tried them on twice, I think the lady was going to hurt me. I just couldn't decide. I really love them but I don't know how they will "go" with my wedding ensemble. I will probably get them, don't steal my shoes. I will cut you.

I also fell in love with a Natalie B. gold wishbone necklace that was very reasonably priced at Planet Blue. If I hadn't been contemplating those TB heart sandals so hard I may have purchased this necklace. It is so sweet. I am also in love with this Tree of Life necklace from Nat but alas, it is sold out...

Jonathon and I both swooned a bit for the Le Labo candles (especially the Figue and Santal) at Theory. They are scrumptious. And I got a little too jazzed about these bomb turquoise leather fringe Cynthia Vincent sandals at Madison. I should be a fashion merchandiser. Seriously, someone hire me.

Finally, we were mostly inspired by the GIANT succulents everywhere. Never had I noticed them before, now I can't get succulents off my brain. I can't seem to find any pics on the internet and I should have taken some but the Lumber Yard is a "paparazzi free zone" so I didn't want to get in trouble.

Coral Crystal Collection

Sigh, how I enjoy you dear Nordstrom. Whilst shopping today I came across the very coral-centric Crystal Collection at Nordstrom, also available online (Do I sounds like an ad? Sorry, I'm excited). The Ava Gold (shown below) embodies the right twist of upscale tropically resortwear with orange and pink crystals that perfectly match our wedding colors.

Couldn't you just envision a lovely maid swathed in coral chiffon blowing in the desert breeze with a flower in her hair, draped in orange and pink crystals?! OK I'm getting simultaneously really dang excited for our wedding and completely carried away...

Ahem, back to jewelry, the collection is quit varied, with something that would suit every style from simple to more extravagant. Aren't these great? I almost bought the bracelet for myself today but I figured I should wait until my ensemble comes together a bit more.

In person, they look even more rich in color, and they would make fantastic bridesmaids gifts. Get pumped ladies!

Stacking Rings

I love everything about my beautiful Jacquie Aiche engagement ring. It is a slim yellow gold band with a super sparkly bezel cut diamond and it is so beautifully unique. It is so personal and special to me. Sometimes if I catch the diamond in the right light it looks stormy and I love that. It reminds me of the rain on the beach when Jon proposed to me. HUGE smile!

After the wedding, I am planning on wearing just my new wedding band on my left ring finger. But what to do with my wonderful engagement ring? Accessorize of course! Tiffany's has beautiful "Celebration Rings" and the rose gold metro ring looks amazing next to my engagement ring. They suggest you purchase one to "celebrate" those big moments in life after your wedding such as babies and anniversaries. Why wait? :)

(Check out that huge mama-jama on the bottom of the stack! I def tried it on at Tiffanys and it was def almost 15k!!! If you can afford that, what don't you have to celebrate?!)

Ahem, back to reality... More realistically, I love the idea of stacking one or five of these beautiful Blanca Monros Gomez rings in rose and yellow gold. Their black seed diamond collection in particular makes my heart flutter. Aren't they beautiful?

I am almost as excited to switch my engagement ring to my right hand and accessorize that bad boy as I am to have a wedding ring on my left hand! What? I said almost!!!

Jacquie Aiche & St. Kilda

I love when people ask about my beautiful Jacquie Aiche engagement ring because:
