I am so honored and excited to share with you that my Etsy site has been featured on Emmaline Bride: The Wedding Guide for the Handmade Bride. YES!!!

This is not only thrilling for me because it gives my Etsy site publicity but also because the Emmaline Bride blog maintains the same philosophy that I try to uphold with my blog and Etsy site. That is that a wedding should be personal and the best way to make that possible is with sentimental, handmade touches.

With Jonathon and my 1 year anniversary just around the corner (how is that possible?!) I have been doing some duderific shopping of late.

Man Stuff is an awesome Etsy site with all things vintage and manly (caution: that does include some vintage nudey mags for those of us who blush easily). This site not only has some great gift items, but everything is also on SALE 30% off until March 16. I'm excited.

Welcome to Regretsy

A good friend of mine also has an Etsy store and we were talking the other day about it and I mentioned Regretsy... at which point he said, what is regretsy? Oh man... I think my heart stopped.

Do some of ya'll not know about Regretsy? Because, you are going to die. Lets just start with their motto: "Where DIY meets WTF." Pretty much.

If you haven't checked it out yet, you can thank me after the hours you spend in side splitting laughter. Here, a sampling of the ridiculousness you will find...

a) Stollen Bjag, an ikea shopping bag dress. Cause, you know, who doesn't need one of these?

B) An Alchemy add (where someone posts a description of something they want made in hopes that someone will craft them a one-of-a-kind creation) for a Lady Gaga toddler outfit.

C) Jasper Dean doll: the undead offspring of Jasper and Alice from Twilight.

Be aware that some of the stuff on this site is SO inappropriate it isn't even funny, it's just sick. But, what's crazy is that people are actually selling this crap. Like, for reals.

Oh man it hurts so good.

Feeling the Etsy Love

My Esty store has been seeing a lot of action lately with orders for paper and ribbon banners AND polaroid style seating cards for several upcoming weddings. It's beyond exciting!!!

I feel so blessed that something I love doing also brings joy to others. It feels amazing to know I will be a very small part of these gal's big days.

I want to buy these because they are ridiculously cute and I think they would be a great gift for my significantly better half. BUT, I have absolutely no use for/no where to pin mine. What to do... Kind of in love with them.

Beautiful Adobe Illustrator Wedding Programs

The programs for our wedding are one of the DIY projects I am most proud of and most cherish as a keepsake. I put a lot of heart and care into them. I was so completely beyond happy with the results that I am now selling these wedding program templates on my Etsy site!


When searching for unique ideas I stumbled upon these amazing programs I saw on Green Wedding Shoes and was completely inspired.

How different and still personal are these? Those were the two words I was hoping to embody and I think this bride hit a total home run with her own wedding programs.

It was fun for me to put my love of my family and friends, photography, graphic design and paper products to use on something so personal.

DIY Detail: Etsy Ring Bowl by Paloma's Nest

One of the most personalized elements of our wedding that we did not make ourselves was our Paloma's Nest ring bowl. You may have seen these in Martha Stewart Weddings, or on any number of wedding blogs, and we totally heart them.

If you personalize one of these, they aren't exactly cheap. We debated whether it was worth the dollar bills for something that would be used and barely seen for all of 30 seconds. But you see, the hubs and I are major Christmas freaks, and this here ring bowl officially turns into an Xmas tree ornament as soon as the wedding is over.

We. Were. Sold.

You can personalize the bowls with as much or as little word magic as your heart desires. Jonathon and I did not use the ever-present 1 Corinthians 13 "love quote" during our wedding ceremony but we still wanted to incorporate those perfect sentiments of what love truly is into our wedding in a more subtle way. Thus, our patience, kindness, faith, hope, love ring bowl. I know its hard to see in the pic, but there is also a little stamp of a house and then the word home at the bottom.

I'm about to get all corny on you so if you're squeamish look away... but all of those words in one way or another mean to us, trust. To me, that is the most essential part of my friendship, love and marriage with my hubs and I am so glad to have the keepsake to remind me what's truly important in this crazy life.

Did I mention it is gold-plated? Christmas status!

DIY Detail: Handmade Wedding Program Booklets

The wedding program is one of the key elements of a wedding that should never be left to the last minute or to a quick fix idea. I know others may argue that this is an item that inevitably finds its way to the trash just as soon as the recessional ends. I, a confessed romantic, think however that the wedding program is an opportunity to transport your guests into the love and excitement you and your husband feel and aim to express on your big day.

The wedding program is the first impression a guest is greeted with when they enter into your event. It is the first opportunity to convey thanks and love and the general mood you wish your day to capture. The wedding program is about the ceremony itself; the very reason for all of the excitement and planning of nitty-gritty details. In other words, make it special!

For our wedding, I handmade 4x6 inch booklets that contained our wedding ceremony, photographs, bible quotes, bridal party info, family and readers, and a special thank you section. They were designed on InDesign and PhotoShop and then we had them printed at our local print shop and finally I stitched the booklets together. We wanted a look that was clean and easy to read but still had a soft romantic look. It was truly a labor of love and one of my favorite parts of our wedding celebration.
