Aisle Runners

I have three 40% coupons to JoAnn's Fabrics burning a whole in my pocket so I am off to see what I can craft. I have been thinking about making our aisle runner, but I don't really know what material to use. I so dislike it when the aisle runner at a wedding gets all bunched up so I know I either need some really heavy muslin or maybe canvas.

The aisle at St. Margaret's is preeeeeetty long, so it may take a good chunk of material, but I think it will make a big, beautiful impact.

While looking into what makes a great aisle runner, I came across the Original Runner Co. Their aisle runners are beautiful but start at $400. Yikes. The good news? I entered a contest on their site to win a $500 aisle runner! Wish us luck! These are some from their site.

St. Margaret's Church

Ahhhh lovely St. Margaret's. It is purpley churchy wonderfulness. J and I enjoyed a mini-photo shoot here courtesy of mi madre... enjoy!

Church Flowers

My mom, J and I all went down to Palm Springs this past weekend and had ourselves a good look-around. Pictures to follow, I promise! Seeing the beautiful church got me thinking about what sorts of decor we will need. The space is grand and lovely and really doesn't need much. We're thinking flowers on every other pew (there are 7 on each side), an aisle runner, and two large bouquets. Plus of course our bouquets!

I was very inspired by these whimsical, yet classic florals I have found all over the internet. I love the mix of bright colors and traditional flowers (hot coral peonies, here we come!) and I love love love the coral aisle runner. I'm excited!!!

St. Margaret's Beautifulness

While looking through Palm Desert florist portfolios online I saw this pic of St. Margaret's from Arrangements Floral Design! Isn't it lovely? I'm not so into the big red roses, but the church is beautiful and I can't wait to marry my honey there... yippeeeeee!
