Living in Central Florida we get asked all the time about how we enjoy the Disney parks and aren't they great, and which one's the best, etc. Well, until last weekend we hadn't been to all of them so we couldn't answer that question very well. But now we can!
Our awesome friends Jamie and TJ (who both used to work for Disney and know all of the insider secrets of what rides to skip and which restaurants are the yummiest) took us to the Animal Kingdom and Epcot this past weekend.
The one thing these two Southern Californians are constantly surprised by is the sheer size of the Disney property. The Animal Kingdom was really huge too, but rightly so as there is an entire wild game reserve on property of which we were able to explore on a safari!
One of the best rides we went on at both parks was Expedition Everest which was like a mix of the Matterhorn and Big Thunder Mountain but with a twist. I won't tell you what the twist is so that you are as surprised as we were when you go on it... it was awesome.
In the evening we went over to Epcot, which was so beautiful. I kind of didn't know what to expect of Epcot but I really enjoyed it. We went during Flower and Garden Festival so there were lots of sculptures of Disney characters made of plants here and there. That's Peter Pan behind us.
Epcot's theme is that many different international countries are represented. There is a soda station with free samples of soda's from around the world. I personally enjoyed Japan's, Jon liked China and I'm pretty sure TJ is making that face at the soda from Italy which was DISGUSTING.
Jamie and TJ are cute:
We had an awesome time! And now we can call our selves true Central Florida experts.
Come visit and we will give you the insider tour. :)
